The Humber Hawks men's soccer team took a much different route to their fifth consecutive victory during their 3-2 win over the Niagara Knights on Thursday, September 25/08, in a match played on the Humber Valley Field. Their lackslustre start, combined with critical errors put the Hawks down 2-0 after the first 20 minutes of the match. This forced the home team into recovery mode, and they were once again led by Andrew Da Silva and Alex Janjics. Da Silva scored on an amazing long drive from 35 yards out at the 32 minute mark. Janjics tied the game just seconds before the halftime whistle. The Hawks came out with a much better effort in the second half. Da Silva once again played the hero, as he scored his second of the game. This tally proved to be the winner. Humber had to battle all the way as a red card left them one man short for the last 14 minutes of the game. Jason Lisi was selected as the Humber "Player of the Game". The Hawks do not take to the home pitch until Homecoming weekend. They play the St. Clair "Saints" on Saturday, October 4/08 at 4:00 pm. They then follow up with a tilt against the Lambton "Lions" on Sunday, October 5/08 at 2:00 pm. Both games will be played on the Humber Valley Field.
