Horseback Riding & Yoga

On Friday, October 14th, a group of Humber students from both the North and Lakeshore Campuses traveled to Uxbridge to participate in the annual Horseback Riding & Yoga Event organized by the Campus Recreation Department.

At this year’s event, students were treated to a welcome video, a 30 minute Natural Horsemanship Demonstration by Michael, and a 1-hour guided trail ride through the forest.  Because of the time of year, the views of the changing leaves and rolling hills were breathtaking.  Riders’ experience ranged from beginners to advanced riders, and everyone was able to have a fun and safe time.

Students then participated in a gentle yoga session, taught by Nathania, one of Humber’s event coordinators, and enjoyed a picnic-style lunch in the “off-the-grid” chalet.  Students really enjoyed the simplicity of the event, and the slower pace.  Event t-shirts and transportation to and from the country farm was also provided by the Campus Recreation Department.

The next Horseback Riding and Yoga Event is planned for October 2017, right around the Thanksgiving break.
